In this workshop, participants have the opportunity to make valentines and/or notecards using a variety of materials, including paper, beads, feathers and more. We’ll provide the note cards and envelopes, it’s up to you to decorate them as you will! This is one of our most beloved workshops, and there is something new every year. Learn embossing and stamping techniques to embellish your cards!

While materials will be provided, feel free to bring any of the following to share:
• unusual papers: colored paper, tissue papers, music paper
• old stamps & stickers
• glitter pens and glitter
• trim: ribbons & lace
• yarn, string, embroidery floss
• feathers
• very small sea shells
• beads
• small dried wild flowers
• anything small and beautiful!

Here are some other things to try:
— Pocket Valentine pattern & instructions (pdf)
— Heart Pocket card (accordian-style; on Michaels website)
— Monogram card (could be adapted for heart design; on Michaels website)
— Old-Fashioned Popup pattern & instructions from Joli Paquet (warning, annoying music)
— Some simple envelope templates (most fit on regular paper, and thus are small)

— Mini 3-D origami hearts (I had some samples at the workshop)
— Best "Balanced Heart" (same on both sides)
— Ornate "money" Origami heart or here
