Do you know about the ZERO WASTE CHALLENGE?

“Zero waste” isn’t just about recycling! It’s a program that’s designed to educate and help us think ahead when buying products, in addition to making intelligent choices about how we use them in our daily lives, and eventually how we dispose of them.

While we’re all trying to do our best with making positive “green” choices, we can all use a reminder, and starting out the new year is a great way to do this! STEVE DEVINE, Program Manager of Zero Waste Marin, will tell us about the 10 identified “challenges” that will make Marin an even better place to live and help us set an example for the rest of the nation.

Bring your questions! What’s the best way to compost and not have the scraps get smelly and icky? What are the best light bulbs to use? How do you dispose of them? What will happen when our Redwood landfill fills up? What's the best way to “buy in bulk?”

Zero Waste Marin is a county-wide program whose goal is to reduce waste and help our environment. They have easy household tips that can help you and your wallet. In our presentation, we can answer questions about which bins to use for which kind of waste, what to do with hazardous waste, and how to avoid and reduce household and food waste, among other things.

==> Please RSVP to rsvp@cmwomensclub.org by Sunday, Jan. 12 if you are coming to ensure we have enough tables and chairs set up.
==> Please BRING A DISH to share as our luncheons are POT LUCK. Luncheons and programs are open to the public, you are welcome to bring friends. Beverages, plates and utensils are provided.
