DR. VALERIE PITTS, superintendent of the Larkspur-Corte Madera School District, will give us an update on the Neil Cummins school modernization project, where she says a significant amount of work will be done this summer. And come meet MICHELLE WALKER, principal of our newest school in Corte Madera. The school is planned for the San Clemente School site on Paradise Drive in bayside Corte Madera, opening in Fall 2014. |
DR. BOB BUNDY, bayside Corte Madera resident, will talk about a new plan for some of the Corte Madera Ecological Reserve area. The Golden Gate Bridge District (GGBHTD) wants to convert the dredge spoils site east of the Village to wetlands at no cost to Corte Madera, as mitigation for projects they have planned at their ferry terminals. Bob is working with the Marin Audubon Society and Marin Baylands Advocates to help facilitate this project. It will result in more wetlands being added to the Corte Madera Ecological Reserve, improved flood protection for Corte Madera, and elimination of invasive pampas grass which has been a source of fires over the years due to homeless encampments in the area. |
