PROGRAM: SAFETY IN YOUR HOME & COMMUNITY
Have you been reading the Twin Cities Police Authority police logs lately? Or the newspaper? Incidents of vehicle and residential break-ins with thefts of personal property, and in some cases personal harm, ARE happening in the Twin Cities. Officer Patty Monge of the Twin Cities Police Authority will let us know what’s happening in our neighborhoods and will offer suggestions of what to do to protect ourselves, our loved ones, and our property when going about our daily activities.
For instance, do you know what to do when somebody rings the doorbell who you don’t know? If you are thinking, “just don’t answer the door,” this might not be the safest option in the current milieu. What do you do if you think you see someone lurking in a parking lot? Do you have questions about identity theft? The presentation will cover information about what you can do while shopping at malls and stores around town, going on walks, or in your own home and car. Officer Patty will be happy to explore topics not covered in her presentation and answer any questions.
