second-hand smoke prevention logoPROGRAM: THE DANGERS OF SECOND-HAND SMOKE
Our speakers are JENNIE COOK, of Corte Madera, who is past President of the American Lung Association and nationwide speaker on the dangers of second-hand smoke. With her will be ELIZABETH EMERSON, who is on the faculty at UCD in public health and a consultant to the County Health Dept. Office which strives to create safe residential and work environments for all in Marin. These women were instrumental in bringing the skills and sample ordinances to Larkspur to allow the City to adopt a far-reaching prohibition in smoking in multiple-family dwellings throughout the city of Larkspur. This ordinance goes into full effect on May 1, 2012 and joins that of the County and Novato in providing healthy living quarters for all renters and condo-dwellers.
