over 100 years of service
THE CORTE MADERA WOMEN’S IMPROVEMENT CLUB
Our Annual Giant Indoor Yard Sale raises thousands of dollars for
scholarship and community programs! Thank you to all who donate,
volunteer and shop at our sale.
Members of the Club went on to landscape Railroad Park, across from the train station; organized socials, dances, and picnics; and stepped up to feed teams of volunteer firefighters when a calamity occurred. They put the starch into community government, making sure that public services were adequate, and they even set up a field hospital in town when World War II began. Money donated by the Club made it possible for the Corte Madera Lions Club to build the Recreation Center (now known as the “Corte Madera Community Center”) in 1951.
We offer a variety of activities and programs, and are responsive to the needs and interests of our members and the community. It’s YOUR club! If there is something that you’d like to do, or if you’d like to get a group together, just let us know.
